Another Win for Toms River Little League

More congratulations are in order for the New Jersey State Champion Toms River Little League All Stars team!

They won their first game in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament in Bristol, Connecticut, on Saturday, defeating Northwest Washington, DC, by a score of 12 to 2.  Toms River came back from a 2-run deficit to take that victory, but Coach Pete Avallone says that's par for the course.

"It seems like our last ten games, we've been down every single game," Avallone said.  "These kids just never quit."

Toms River faces off against Colonie, NY, at 5pm Sunday, but Coach Avallone says -- win or lose -- it's been an honor to represent the Garden State.

"Baseball's a weird game, you need a couple breaks here and there," Avallone said. "Especially with as many good teams as we have here in New Jersey."
