The amount of positive covid-19 coronavirus cases in Ocean County has risen to 48 in the latest tally by the Ocean County Health Department which includes 26 cases alone in Lakewood. The state department of health has recorded 43 cases in Monmouth County.

Police across the Garden State are expected to start cracking down on any social gathering with more than 50 people, to help slow the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Governor Murphy has ordered all personal care businesses and social clubs closed indefinitely.

The rise in the amount of coronavirus cases at the Jersey Shore and beyond has brought on a range of emotions for many people from panic and fear to loneliness and sadness. As state and health officials continue efforts to lower the risk of exposure and turn the tide, Diocese of Trenton Bishop David O'Connell says one of the keys for residents watching everything unfold is to stay calm and not panic.
