A record was broken today. Six Flags Great Adventure's new ride, "Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom" had the final beam attached to the structure to make it officially the tallest drop ride in the world at 41 stories.

Let me say that one more time - it's a ride that drops you from 41 stories in the air.

We talked about Zumanjaro a couple of months ago when Great Adventure released details about the upcoming ride as well as a terrifying video rendering of what the experience will be like.

At the time, we took a poll on whether you're excited for the extreme thrill ride or if you're going to stay away from the dizzying heights. Funny enough, the voting was exactly 50/50.

If you want to start the countdown, Great Adventure officials say that the ride will debut on Memorial Day Weekend.

If you want more of an idea of what you can expect, they also had this to say:

Riders will pause for a few terrifying moments 41 stories in the air—even higher than London’s Big Ben and twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty—allowing them to catch a glimpse of the skyscrapers in Philadelphia 52 miles to the south before gravity plunges them back to ground level in less than 10 seconds.

Will you be riding? Tell us in the comments!
