You Need To See Human Horse Racing At Monmouth Park

This Sunday is Monmouth Park's annual Irish Festival...and something caught my eye in the description.

Enjoy a beautiful day of live Thoroughbred racing highlighted by Irish step dancing, crafters, food, a pipe and drum competition and the fan-favorite human horse race."

HUMAN HORSE RACE? I googled it to see if it was what I thought it was, and oh boy was it!

This video is even longer, and shows the 'horses' being led out of the paddock onto the track.

I've been to Monmouth Park a handful of times, and I've never even heard of this, let alone seen it in action. Apparently this has only happened every other year in the past, as the website only shows 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016.

The race is for a good cause, as you can make a donation through the website to sponsor a horse, with proceeds benefiting Team Shamrock and The Tunnel-To-Towers Run.
