I openly admit that I don't like needles. Because of that, I usually don't get a flu shot. After my experiences over the past week and a half or so, I will never make that mistake again.

If you spend any time on social media, you undoubtedly have at least a handful of friends who are complaining of aches, fever, and sleepless nights. It seems like, in about the two weeks since right before Christmas, just about everyone has at least had a few days where they felt under the weather.

The worst part about the flu - like the common cold, it's a virus, so there's not a whole lot you can do besides try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. You more or less just have to ride it out and hope it ends sooner rather than later.

Lucky for me, I only had about two days where I felt really crummy, but I'm still congested and feeling lethargic.

Like I said, I learned my lesson. Even though I hate needles, I'll take the few seconds of discomfort over days of misery any time!
