It seems like 2014 is the year of "the tallest ___ in the world". Of course, just this month, "Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom" opened at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, the tallest drop ride in the world. Throw in some water, and you have another extreme thrill ride that just opened last week - Kansas City's "Verrückt" (German for "crazy"). It's the tallest waterslide in the world.
