Police responding to a report of an armed robbery at 150 Brick Boulevard about 10 PM say they found the victim in a car behind the building, with multiple gashes in her side and hand and head injuries.

She told investigators that a man who appeared intoxicated pulled her out of the car, held a knife to her throat, and stabbed her while taking her handbag containing cash, medications and jewelry.

He ran off, say police, toward Lions Head Office Park.

Brick police, with help from a township K-9 team, officers from Toms River and Lakewood, and a New Jersey State Police Aviation unit searched to no avail until about 3 AM.

The suspect is described as white, about six feet in height, with a full beard, wearing a dark sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information that can help lead to the apprehension and conviction of the suspect is urged to call Brick PD Detective Robert Shepherd, 732-262-1112; or Detective Thomas Cooney, 732-262-4708.
