Witnesses Sought in Wanamassa Fire Probe

Nearly a week after a Wanamassa house fire drove eight people out into the frosty middle of the night, investigators continue to trace the cause.

Ocean Township police in Monmouth County say everyone inside the Laurel Avenue dwelling managed to avoid injury as they scampered to safety around 1:22 AM on February 19.

Authorities say that flames enveloped the front porch and left considerable damage to the interior as well as the exterior of the house.

Monmouth County investigators are now involved in the probe.Anyone who might have seen anything related to the episode is being urged to call either Ocean Township Police Detective Patrick Martin at 732-531-1800.
