The suspect in a Sunday-night robbery in Jackson remains at large while his victim recovers from a brutal beating, and police are asking anyone who can help the probe to step forward.

Officers responding to Romeo's Plaza about 11:30 PM encountered the worker who told them that he was closing business for the night.

According to his statement to investigators, a man entered the restaurant, punched him repeatedly, and grabbed a deposit bag filled with cash and receipts from a countertop before running out.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5'9" in height and 170 pounds, wearing a  hooded black Nike sweatshirt and dark colored jeans.  Police say he had the hood of the sweatshirt pulled over his head during the robbery.
