A young Willingboro man dies in a hail of bullets, and the gunman is on the loose.


Burlington County and Willingboro detectives are searching for the suspect or suspects who fired at Nacim Byrd, 22, and left him lying on Placid Lane near his home, according to County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi's office.

County and local authorities urge anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact them confidentially.

Police responded to a report of gunfire just after 11 PM on January 15, police said.

Byrd was found with multiple gunshot wounds and rushed to Lourdes Medical Center in Willingboro, where he was pronounced dead.

Burlington County's Medical Examiner, Dr. Ian Hood, conducts an autopsy today to pinpoint the cause and manner of death.
