Pope Francis is coming to northeast in this week, and preparations are underway across the region for his arrival. While the pope won't be making an official stop in New Jersey, we'll definitely will have a huge traffic mess on our hands for anyone heading near New York City and Philadelphia during his visit. Is Pope Francis' visit affecting your plans?

I was talking to a lot commuter friends over the past few weeks, and they have all said they're going to adjust their schedules while the pope is in town. I commute to New York City two days a week for work, and I have already marked the week of September 21 as one that I will be strictly working from home. In fact, I often fly to other cities during the work week, and I will be trying to avoid the airports that week because of overcrowding.

My friends who work in Philadelphia have said they'll be taking vacation time from (Thursday) September 24th through at least (Sunday) September 27th, and they may stay home again on Monday as the crowds clear out of the city that day.

Need the update on what traffic plans are for the papal visit? We have them right here. we have some good suggestions for anyone who needs to get into New York City or Philadelphia later this month.

Will the pope's visit affect your plans? Are you planning on heading into one of the cities to see the pope or will you just watch the events on television instead?
