Snowboarder SHAUN WHITE made history thanks to an epic final run in the Men’s halfpipe that allowed him to become the first American male to win a gold medal at three different Winter Olympics. The 31-year old was in second place going into the last of his three runs before turning in a daring and dazzling effort that was also historic in that it produced the 100th gold medal won by US athletes in Winter Olympics history.

High winds have once again impacted alpine skiing events and delayed the debut of American MIKAELA SHIFFRIN with the women’s slalom now postponed to Friday. Shifrin will first ski in the delayed giant slalom which is scheduled for tonight our time. Also in prime time tonight is the men’s downhill and the pairs’ figure skating concludes with the free skate with the lone American couple out of medal contention.

The U.S. Mens Ice Hockey team makes its Olympic debut today and blew a 2-0 lead in the 3rd period before losing to Slovenia in overtime 3-2.

The United States has won a total of 7 medals which puts them fifth in the standings with Norway’s 11 leading the way. However, the four gold medals, all in snowboarding events, is tied for second behind Germany who has won five.
