As we now count down the hours until Thanksgiving Day, most of us are looking forward to spending the day with loved ones, but there are many in Ocean County who may be going hungry on Thanksgiving.

That's why Ocean County Hunger Relief is making sure to get the word out about free Thanksgiving dinner locations throughout the area.

Ocean County Hunger Relief aims to provide food for those in need such as seniors on fixed incomes, low income families, the homeless, and others who may be in need this holiday season.

Here are the locations in Ocean County who OCHR is working with for Thanksgiving dinner:


Lacey United Methodist Church: 203 Lacey Rd. Forked River. Beginning at 1pm RSVP (609) 693-5222.


Holy Cross Lutheran Church: 1500 Hooper Ave, Toms River. Continuous servings from 12noon to 4pm. Walk-ins welcome. For additional info call (732) 255-4455.


St. Martha Church: 3800 Herbertsville Rd., Point Pleasant. Delivery or pickups by 12 noon (upon request) Must call in advance (732) 295-3630 ext. 42


First United Methodist Church of Toms River: 129 Chestnut St. Beginning at 1pm. Must call in advance (732) 349-8155.


Simon’s Soup Kitchen at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish hall: Grant and Central avenues in Seaside Heights. From 2pm to 3pm (full dinner served)


Waretown United Methodist Church: Serving at the Waretown Volunteer Fire Company Hall, 117 Wells Mill Rd. on the corner of Corliss St. in Waretown From 2pm-5pm. RSVP’s are nice but not required- walk ins welcomed.
