When You See This in Ocean County or Anywhere, Do You Give?
I see this man almost everyday in Downtown Toms River, as I'm leaving work. His sign says, "I'm a Vet and I don't have any money." or "I don't have a job or am looking for work"--or something very close to that. It breaks my heart.
I like to think of myself as a community minded girl. I will be the first one to reach out and give to someone if they need it. If and when I see a homeless person or a person holding a sign at an intersection I usually get them a drink and food. But I probably wouldn't give them money.
As I see this man everyday, I'm thinking...maybe I'm doing the wrong thing, maybe I should give him money. Or, could you say, "Sue you're a sucker:" I hope not. He says he served our country and that to me means I would give him anything he wants.
What do you think when you see this? Do you give money? Have you seen him in Toms River?
