When Hollywood and Broadway Get Jerseyfied
Someone was just telling me about their latest trip to New York City. It included a visit to Broadway to see Getting The Band Back Together. Apparently, the musical is set in MIddlesex County.
It's always cool to watch a production that's set in a place you know. It's fun to hear a reference to something only locals would know.
I can't think of any other plays set in Jersey but there have been lots of movies based in the Garden State. Remember seeing Princeton University in A Beautiful Mind? Kevin Smith shows off his Jersey roots in Clerks, Mallrats and Jersey Girl. The Amityville Horror was partially filmed in Toms River.
What are some of your favorite productions that have a Jersey connection?
