As many of us are enjoying the unseasonably mild weather today, we're not the only ones taking the opportunity to enjoy the sun and the warm weather. You may have noticed a lot of ladybugs around today.

When I went to vote this morning, I noticed a bunch of the brightly colored buggers on the front of the building (and one tried to hitch a ride in my car, as you can see in the picture). Then, when I got to work, more of the bold beetles were hanging out on the outside of the office building.

So what's the deal?

Well, it's pretty simple - again, like us, the ladybugs are enjoying the nice weather. They usually get ready to hibernate this time of year, but the sun and mild air has brought them out to enjoy the climate before it's time to call it a year until the spring.

They're harmless, so there's nothing to worry about. In fact, some even consider them good luck. If a ladybug hitches a ride indoors with you, you can gently shoo them outside. But don't worry, they don't pose any threat of hurting you or causing property damage.
