It's going to be a rainy, windy day today with the concern for flooding at the Jersey Shore as this Nor'easter passes through our area.

We asked our meteorologist Dan Zarrow when we'll be dealing with the worst of it and here's what he thinks. " The heaviest rain will occur from now through at least the middle of the afternoon.  As much as 2 to 3 inches of rain could fall today, and streets and streams may become flooded".

Dan says the biggest concern for coastal flooding will be at high tide this morning which occurs at 8:49 a.m. at Seaside Heights. And the wind could be gusting to 40 mph or more along the coast, with early morning gusts of 36mph reported in Sea Girt and Seaside Heights.

As for the end of this storm, Dan says,"While the rain will die down considerably tonight, this storm system will be sitting on top of us through Thursday morning, with continuing chances for rain and snow (although lighter than today).  Tomorrow night, I'm a little concerned that temperatures will drop far enough that we go all snow and we could see some light accumulations".

We will, of course, continue to keep you updated and you can check in on Dan's forecast anytime.
