Yesterday we told you about a trio of job fairs that are coming to Ocean County over the next two weekends, and it got me thinking about summer jobs.

It's almost a rite of passage for Ocean County teens to work a beach job of some kind growing up.

Whether it's lifeguarding in Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, or Long Beach Island, working a game booth at Jenkinson's or Casino Pier, running rides at Great Adventure, or spending your days making change at Lucky Leo's, there are tons of ways to keep busy during the summer season nearby.

Personally, I spent my summers as a camp counselor all the way up through the year between my Freshman and Sophomore years of college, and I loved it. I made some of my best friends working at the same camp for so long.

I think that's one of the best parts of summer jobs - a lot of times we work with people from other towns who we might not interact with during the school year. And a lot of times, the same people come back to the same jobs for years. So summers are kind of like reunions of sorts.

So what were your favorite summer jobs when you were a kid? Did you go back to the same job year after year? Comment below and let us know!
