It's normally agreed upon that New Jersey has three distinct areas - North, Central, and South. But the debate comes in when people try to put Ocean County in one of those categories.

I grew up in Central Jersey, so I'm pretty familiar with it. I'd put Central Jersey as far south as about the PNC Bank Arts Center.

But I feel like Ocean County has a totally different feel than the Central area - we're not as crowded, there aren't as many long distance commuters here, and we have a lot more nature areas than, say, Middlesex County.

But when I think of South Jersey, I think of Southern Burlington County, Atlantic County, and down to Cape May.

But that leaves the question, if Ocean County isn't Central NJ and it's not South NJ, then what is it? Are we our own, fourth area? Or do we edge into Central or South?
