It's National Boss's Day so I want to salute all of you managers who are successfully leading your teams at Ocean County workplaces.  I've held leadership positions in my professional and volunteer life and I know it can be challenging working with so many different types of personalities.  In my opinion, the best bosses are those who communicate their expectations clearly.  I did a quick poll of some of my friends and here are some words or phrases they use to describe a great boss

  • Understanding
  • Good listener
  • Empathetic
  • Supportive
  • Humble
  • Magnanimous (I had to look it up!  It means very generous or forgiving, especially toward a rival or someone less powerful than oneself.)

What qualities do YOU think make a great boss?  Please add to the list in the Comments section.

And on the flip side, what words describe bad bosses?
