Bouncing around a bit on Columbus Day which is a state and federal holiday so be aware of that.  There is no mail delivery today as the post office is closed, some banks are open while others are closed, and many school districts are using today as a professional day for staff while students get to stay at home.

Of course the holiday was created to pay tribute to Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the Americas and many Italians use it to celebrate their heritage but it’s the latest to fall victim to political correctness which is simply sad.

Speaking of sad, the New York Football Giants.  Let’s leave it at that.

If you’re confused about the summer-like weather then how to you think trees feel.  Leaves started falling a couple of weeks ago and now in some trees it looks like new leaves are growing.  Mother Nature just can’t seem to make up her mind which puts her in line with just about everyone else.

So the headline reads, “Vice President Pence leaves football game in disgust over player protests.”  However in this case you need to dig a bit deeper.  The Vice President did go to the 49ers-Colts game in Indianapolis Sunday and said in a tweet prior that he was there to help honor Peyton Manning whose number was being retired.

However Pence left shortly after the National Anthem in which about 20 members of the 49ers took a knee and said in another tweet that he and President Trump will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, flag and anthem.

It appears his departure was orchestrated because Pence knew there would be players taking a knee (49er players have done this every week) and the press pool following him was not allowed in the stadium and told to stay in their vans because there might be an early departure.

Stop playing games and start finding solutions.

By the way, the Jets are 3-2 and tied for first place in their division.

A follow up to Friday.  I did perform my second wedding ceremony over the weekend and all went well (at least I think so).
