Web surfers help corner burglary suspect, say Ocean Township police
Social media surfers get the assist on the arrest of a suspect in an October 22 home burglary in Monmouth's Township of Ocean.
Robert Gannon, 24, an Ocean resident, was apprehended in Eatontown on October 28 after an anonymous tipster response to posted surveillance video led to the discovery of his identity, police said.
Detectives canvassing the neighborhood spotted cameras on a nearby house, developed information leading them to the neighboring borough, and found jewelry reported stolen during the arrest, police said.
Gannon was jailed in the Momouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) in lieu of $25,000 bail, charged with burgalry, theft and criminal mischief.
Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
