The face of Todd Timmerman, 44, became widespread after authorities released it on February 5, through a combination of media web sites and collateral Facebook pages, including the department's.

Spokesman Ralph Stocco said it was the catalyst for "numerous viable tips" that led to charges of shoplifting and eluding capture.

Dissemination of the BMW belonging to Gerald Snyder of Farmingdale led to his arrest for a Morris Avenue home burglary on January 27.

Police say that Timmerman was also the subject of warrants issued by law enforcement in Brick and South Toms River, as well as the Ocean County Sheriff's Office.

Timmerman was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with bail set at $5,264.
