Along with the hundreds of human heroes who saved lives and sacrificed their own on September 11, 2001, there were also many search and rescue dogs involved in the aftermath of the worst terrorist attack on American soil.

Bretagne is the last known living dog who took part in the search and rescue operations. At 16 years old, the folks at BarkPost wanted to celebrate Bretagne on her 16th birthday. Watch the touching video below:
