This past weekend I had a very cool opportunity as I flew along with the elite US Army Golden Knights parachute team at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst "Power in the Pines" open house and air show!

It was a heck of an experience getting onboard the Fokker C-31A, "Excalibur" as it climbed to over 11,000 feet above the air show crowd.

It was an overcast but warm day on the ground at the base, but I can tell you that it was a totally different story more than 2 miles up. You haven't lived until you've been inside of an airplane with the doors wide open as snow blows through the cabin!

The Golden Knights' show is truly impressive from the ground, and it's a whole different kind of jaw-dropping from inside the jump plane.

Take a look!

My thanks to the US Army Golden Knights Gold Demonstration Team for welcoming me onboard and chatting with me before they briskly exited the airplane! And a thanks to the Media Operations team at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst for making the ride-along possible!
