Asbury Park is one of the most iconic symbols of the Jersey Shore. It's been a getaway resort for nearly 150 years, and a major commercial shore destination since the early part of the 20th century.

That being said, it's been marketed as a family destination heavily, as evidenced in this video that looks back almost 80 years, to 1938.

It's a bit long, but worth at least skimming through. You'll see a lot of familiar sites - from the boardwalk to the iconic Paramount Theatre and Convention Hall.

But you'll also notice a lot of long gone features, too (one that stood out to me right away was that the boardwalk looks like it was much wider back in the day).
