A Waretown man has plead guilty to Endangering the Welfare of a Child for possession of child porn and he could face four years in prison upon sentencing, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced on Wednesday.

Michael Delia, 42, will be subject to Parole Supervision for Life upon sentencing by the state and will also have to register as a Sex Offender under Megan's Law.

His guilty plea follows an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, who in January 2019 spotted an IP Address belonging to Delia was being used to download Child Pornography from the internet through a peer to peer file sharing application.

Two months later, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Homeland Security Investigations and Ocean Township Police Department executed a search warrant at Delia’s Waretown residence.

Detectives seized a laptop computer, cell phone and other electronic equipment belonging to Delia.

Upon a forensic examination of the laptop computer Detectives found more than 1,000 but less than 10,000 images of child pornography.

Delia was arrested without incident and transported to the Ocean County Jail.
