War On Terror Continues At Jersey Train And Bus Terminals [AUDIO]

Troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan may give some of us the false impression the war on terror is winding down. The fact is, nothing could be farther from the truth. Spokesman Al Della Fave of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police department says home-grown terror and the internet keep the attack threat inflamed, and it could happen right under our noses while we’re travelling to and from work. He says a half-million people use the trains, buses and bridges between Jersey and New York on a daily basis. Della Fave suggests many commuters, whether they are sitting in a terminal or slowly snaking across a bridge, have loads of time to observe their surroundings.

Della Fave says they need the public’s help. He says they want to see the numer of eyes and ears watching out for a terror attempt to go well beyond those with badges and uniforms. Della Fave says they want the public to speak up and make a call or say something if they see something suspicious as you commute.

He says besides terrorists, complacency remains a major threat.
