ELIZABETH — The FBI is looking for a 28-year-old Elizabeth man in collection with the bombing in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

Ahmad Khan Rahami, a 28-year-old male is a current or former resident of Elizabeth originally from Afghanistan and is a United States citizen, according to the FBI. He is about 5 feet and 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds, it said. Rahami has brown hair, brown eyes, and brown facial hair.

The FBI said Rahami should be considered armed and dangerous.

In issuing an alert and wanted poster, the FBI made no mention of explosives found in New Jersey, in Seaside Heights and Elizabeth. But his last listed address in public directories was at the same location authorities had surrounded on Elmora Avenue after two homeless men found several explosive devices in a backpack in a garbage can near an Elizabeth NJ Transit station.

One device detonated as bomb technicians tried to disarm it. No one was hurt.

An explosion in Manhattan on Saturday injured 29 people but so far no connection has been made to Seaside Park.

The FBI asked that anyone with information about Rahami's whereabout to call the FBI tipline at 800-CALL-FBI (800-225-5324)
