Several hundred workers at the offices of New Jersey Resources have been evacuated, and seven of them have been taken to a local hospital after falling ill.

The Star-Ledger of Newark reports that 300 people were evacuated Friday from the building after employees started feeling ill.

Company spokesman Michael Kinney tells the newspaper that workers reported symptoms including feeling light-headed, nauseous and dizzy.

Kinney says seven people were taken to the hospital, three were treated on scene and three others refused treatment.

The building houses the main office for New Jersey Resources, the parent company of New Jersey Natural Gas. It also houses others companies.

Kinney said officials are conducting tests to determine the cause.
