VOTE NOW: Jersey Shore’s Greatest Grandparents
Last week, we asked our listeners to submit stories about why they had the greatest grandparents at the Jersey Shore. We had such an overwhelming response, that it was incredibly difficult to narrow it down to our favorite five, but we did it!
Read these stories about the loving, caring and beautiful grandparents that call Ocean County home and vote for your favorite. The winning story will receive a $500 Visa Gift Card that you can be used to treat the grandparent(s)! Plus, every entry will get a rose from John’s Riverside Florist in Toms River.

My grandparents are awesome. My brother and I are adopted. When my adoptive mother threw us out of our home, my grandparents stepped in providing us a place to come home to. They provided financial support for day to day living expenses, all of our meals and my grandmother co-signed my student loans so I could go the TCNJ. I will be graduating next month and plan to go on to law school. None of this would have happened without the support of my grandparents. They are truly the best going above and beyond their responsibilities.
The Best Grandparents EVER byCarmen Dentato, Age 9 -
Here are the reasons I have the greatest grandparents ever. One reason they are the best is they let us stay at their house for Hurricane Sandy for 9 months. Another reason is they take my brother and I to fun places like Beachwood Fun Night. They also have a room in their house for us. One use for this room is to hang out and another use is to watch TV and play video games. Another great reason is they make us our favorite foods. Gramps is awesome because he gets us projects to do with him from Home Depot. Grandma is awesome because she decorates the house so very pretty. That is why I have the best grandparents ever!
I HAVE THE BEST GRANDPARENTS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALWAYS HERE WHEN ME, OR MY SISTER AND BROTHER NEED THEM. THEY ARE ALWAYS HERE FOR MY MOM TOO. MY DAD DIED WHEN I WAS 4 IN 2010 AND MY GEGE AND POP POP HAS BEEN THERE FOR US AND MY POP POP TOOK ME AND MY BROTHER TO SCOUTS A LOT. THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY GEGE AND POP POP AND THINK THEY ARE THE GREATEST GRANDPARENTS.
My children only have one grandmother left. My best friend's parents have always stepped in for my children, even coming to karate events. The Christmas after Sandy, they made us come to their family gathering and showered my kids with gifts. My children call them gigi and pop. They are involved in their grandkids lives daily and are amazing people. I feel they need to be recognized and shown how much everyone appreciates them. Thank you.
My grandma cooks for everyone at the church, works in the food bank, volunteers at the church and bakes non-stop. She says she is a caregiver, but she is a nonstop giver that keeps caring. I have the best grandma in the world and all my friends call her grandma also. My mom says she was the neighborhood mom when she was a kid. I'm so lucky she lives with us, you don't need TV when grandma is around haha.
