If volunteering is something you wanted to do more of in 2019, this could be for you and such a great cause!

From the Contact of Ocean & Monmouth Counties website - This is what your volunteering would entail - - Participation in our training programs is both challenging and rewarding. Volunteers are trained in a special communication skill called active listening. Basically, it is the art of communicating with another human being in an open, non-judgmental and accepting manner. The skill is based on empathy and the worker’s respect for the dignity of their fellow humans. Ideally, the phone worker assists the caller in calming down, clarifying the problem(s) and helping the callers to develop their own solutions.

Their next training will begin on Thursday January 17th, 2019. It will be held for 12 weeks every Thursday night from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.

Training takes place at The Chelsea, 458 Jack Martin Blvd., Brick, NJ
