Vehicle strikes pedestrian in Brick Township

A Brick Township woman is hospitalized with internal injuries after being struck by a vehicle Monday night while walking on Hooper Avenue, according to police. 

25-year-old Vilman Nieto was crossing the road shortly after 9:30 p.m. when police said she was hit in the left lane by a Ford Explorer traveling northbound on Hooper Avenue near Brick Estates.

Nieto was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

The driver, a 54-year-old Brick Township woman, has not been charged.
