Unusual Celebrity Baby Names – The Hometown View

What is it with celebrities giving wired names to babies? The latest of course being Blue Ivy, the name that singer Beyonce and rapper Jay-Z have come up with for their first-born daughter.

Officially it’s Blue Ivy Carter and I wonder if they take into consideration at all what a dumb name like that might do to their child later on in life. Of course they are not alone as here are some of the more bizarre names that celebs have come up with for their kids:

Memphis Eve is the child of the singer Bono and frankly I don’t know if it’s a boy or girl.

Moroccan Scott is the son of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. They have a daughter named Monroe who defiantly got the better end when it comes to names.

Kyd (spelled K-Y-D) is the son of actor David Duchovny and actress Tea Leoni and I can’t explain it.

Apple is the daughter of actress Gwyneth Paltrow and musician Chris Martin…he’s been called a fruit in the past so maybe that’s the reason.

Ocean…she is the daughter of actor Forrest Whittaker and she can’t be happy.

You’ve heard of Penn Jillette who is half of Penn and Teller? Did you know he has a daughter named Moxie Crimefighter? How could he?

Same for actor Rob Morrow who has a daughter named Tu(spelled T-U) as in Tue Morrow. You can’t make this stuff up.

Soccer star David Beckham and his former Spice Girl wife Victoria have brought four children into this world. Their three sons are Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz which is nothing too far out there but they made up for that with their daughter…Harper Seven.

Sailor Lee is the daughter of Christie Brinkley. I hope she likes boats.

You probably know Kal-el is Superman’s real name…it’s also the son of Nicholas Cage who is weird to begin with.

Music producer Bob Geldoff has three daughters….Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom and Little Pixie. Yes bad things do come in threes.

Forget out Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie’s tribe of six…too much to handle.

Spec Wildhorse is one of singer John Cougar Mellencamp’s two sons…the other is Hud.

And then of course there are the four children of the late rocker Frank Zappa. Sons Dweezil and Ahmet Emukha Rodan and daughters Moon Unit & Diva Muffin.

Whatever happened to names like Shawn & Sue…wasted on plain people!!!!
