Two swimmers were rescued in rough surf off Seaside Park this afternoon. According to the Star Ledger at NJ.com, the young men were observed by a Seaside Heights Beach Patrol Captain using binoculars struggling in 59-degree water off L street.

The seaside park beach patrol is off duty today and there are red flags posted on the beach.

The seaside heights lifeguards made eight rescues during hte holiday weekend.
