A woman and a teen boy are recovering from stab wounds after an altercation at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson escalated to a parking lot about a mile away Saturday night, according to authorities.

When officers arrived at 571 Monmouth Road (CR 537) around 7:15 p.m., several people were fighting, accord to the Jackson Township Police Department's Facebook Page.

A 35-year-old woman was stabbed in her arm and a teen male had multiple stab wounds to his torso and back, according to authorities. The victims were treated by the officers, responding first aid personnel and medics, then flown by helicopter to an area hospital for further treatment.

Authorities arrested a 29-year-old man from Delaware in connection with the stabbings and charged him with second degree aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. Bail was set at $100,000.00 and he was being held in the Ocean County Jail.

Authorities said the people involved in the fight knew each other. Their names are being withheld to protect the victims as the investigation continues.

Police Officers Darin McClain, Lou Notare, Michael Kelly, Ryan Donnelly, Stephen Cilento, Shane Davis and Sgt. Wayne Olejarz responded to the scene. Detectives Mitch Cowit, Scott Conover, Robert Reiff, John Rodriguez and Dsg. Denis Campbell also responded to investigate. The Ocean County Sheriff’s K-9 and CIU also responded. Fire Department personnel from Jackson also assisted in preparing the landing zone and in securing the scene for investigation.
