The driver, 48-year-old William Antal, and his passenger, 44-year-old Tammy McVicker, were thrown from the Harley Davidson when Police said they struck a vehicle turning left and veered off the road and into a traffic signal control box.

Antal and McVicker were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Antal suffered bruised ribs and a foot injury, police said, while McVicker suffered a compound fracture in the left leg and a laceration to the right forearm. Authorities said they were wearing unapproved Department of Transportation helmets.

The driver of the Ford Mustang the motorcycle hit, 55-year-old Craig Dunbar of Brick, was not injured.

The accident forced a section of Route 70 eastbound to be closed for about two hours.

Brick police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to provide additional information by calling (732) 262-1141.
