Two Pedestrians die on Ocean County Roads over the weekend

Two people have been killed crossing Ocean County roads over the weekend in separate incidents, according to authorities in Toms River and Stafford Townships.

In Toms River, an unidentified 72-year-old man was struck and killed by a jeep on Route 9 near clover Avenue around 9:27 p.m. last night. The accident remains under investigation.

On Saturday night in Stafford, police said 20-year-old Kristi Giuliano of Little Egg Harbor was struck and killed by a motorist trying to cross Route 72 around 10:09 p.m. A driver was questioned, but no charges have been filed. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to please contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 609-597-8581.
