Police say 40-year-old Thomas A. Palmarini of Toms River and 56-year-old David G. Lemon of Bayville used a bolt cutter to break the lock on a gated enclosure used for storing commercial and automotive batteries.  The pair fled on foot when approached by security and escaped by jumping over a fence and entering the woods.

The men were arrested a short time later and charged with Criminal Mischief.  Additional charges may be pending.
