Two Manchester drivers avoid critical injuries Saturday afternoon after crashing into each other around 5 pm at the intersection of Manchester Boulevard and Hilltop Road in the township's Whiting section.

Police say 59-year old Safinaz S. Girgis was heading south in a 2012 Honda Accord on Manchester Boulevard, when a 2005 Pontiac Vibe driven by 81-year old Barbara Barrasso pulled out in front of the man, forcing him to swerve out of the way in efforts to avoid a collision.

Girgis was unable to avoid the crash and after the collision the Honda veered off the road and down a deep embankment, where the car spun and landed on its roof.

Neither driver suffered any serious injury but Girgis suffered non-life threatening injuries and was tended to at Community Medical Center, while Barrasso suffered minor injuries and was cared for by first aid.

Both Barrasso and Girgis were wearing seat-belts at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation by Manchester Township Police.
