Three Hurt in Hair-Raising Toms River Crash

Three people from Toms River are injured, one seriously, in a morning-rush car crash in the township's Pleasant Plains section.

Police say 79-year-old Clare Kramer, a Greenbrier resident, is in critical condition with chest injuries at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

According to authorities, she was headed west on Hickory Street around 8 AM when her 2003 Mercury collided with a minivan at the corner of Vermont Avenue.

She was flown to the trauma center after being extricated from the car. The minivan driver is identified as Jose Mojica, 52. He and his wife Julienne were treated at Ocean Medical Center in Brick.

Investigating officers are Patrolmen Frank Palino, Mark Nater and members of the Ocean County Sheriff's Department.
