Two escape serious injury in Lakewood Airport landing mishap

A rough landing at Lakewood Municipal Airport late Monday afternoon leaves two occupants of a small plane shaken, but reportedly unhurt.

Police said that they were summoned at about 5:30 PM to the airstrips off Cedarbridge Avenue, and were told on arrival that the craft developed difficulties during an intentional landing maneuver.

Police did not disclose the identities of the pair inside the craft, the extent of damage to the plane or to the grounds, or the plane's point of origin, but they did note that the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.

Lakewood firefighters and emergency medical technicians also responded to the incident.
