I caved in a few weeks ago and turned on the heat when it felt damp and chilly in the house.  But I know some of you are holding out.  Do you have a set date every year when you switch the thermostat from "Cool" to "Heat"?   Or do you wait for the outdoor temperature to drop below a certain number?

Ocean County is expecting a real cold spell with lower temps than we've had lately made worse by that pesky wind chill.  To those of you who hold out for a certain day of the year, might "feels like the 30s" convince you to flip the switch?

If you're planning on NOT turning on the heat until later this month, when do you expect to do it?  And those of you who wait for a certain temperature, what's the magic number for when your heater goes on?
