So more than ever we appear to be on a collision course in which Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will likely face one another this fall in a battle for the White House as both scored big victories on Super Tuesday.

Clinton dominated the southern swing and won 7 of the 11 states that held primaries with Bernie Sanders claiming the other four. The most hotly-contested race was in Massachusetts where Clinton squeezed out a close victory over the Vermont senator. On the Republican side it was a good if not great night for Trump, who won 7 states but in some cases not by the majority that was expected.

Ted Cruz came out on top in three primaries, including his home state of Texas and nearby Oklahoma with Marco Rubio winning Minnesota. Trump is clearly the front-runner on the GOP side but showing some cracks in his armor as the party seems to become more and more fractured.

Now that he’s abandoned his bid for the presidency you would have thought Governor Christie would turn his full attention to New Jersey but that is apparently not the case. Days after endorsing Trump our governor was in Florida on Tuesday where he introduced “The Donald” before his victory speech at a rally in Palm Beach.During Trump’s speech Christie stood behind him and looked uncomfortable and very much out of place which drew many responses from those on social media.

Meanwhile the Asbury Park Press is among six Gannett-owned New Jersey newspaper calling for Christie to resign as governor, citing his lack of commitment to the Garden State among the reasons.

Scoring 1,000 points in a high school basketball career is noteworthy…scoring 2000 is legendary. Southern Regional’s Peyton Wejnert reached that milestone and did so in what would be the final game of his career. Needing 24 points coming into last night’s state playoff game against Lenape the 6’7 Wejnert scored 24 in what would be a Rams loss and his final game. Peyton, who played his first two years at Point Boro before transferring to Southern, averaged over 29 points per game this season. He has already committed to Pace University in New York.
