Two shoplifting suspects from Trenton face a battery of charges, accused of boosting several thousand dollars' worth of goods from the Jackson Premium Outlets.

Bail for Darren Wardlaw, 46, was set at $50,000, and bail for Michael Rice, 51, was set at $20,000 following their October 2 arrests, according to Jackson police.

Investigators responding to shoplifting reports estimated that nearly $3,000 worth of merchandise had been taken. Wardlaw and Rice gave officers false identifications, and both were subject to outstanding warrants, police said.

Each was hit with four shoplifting counts and hindering his own apprehension.

Wardlaw was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rice was charged with possession of burglary tools.

Both were placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, and their vehicle was seized, police said.
