I'm a bit sentimental.  I enjoy looking through old photo albums and scrapbooks.  I've kept some old birthday cards and letters that were meaningful to me.  Because I love music so much, it's nice to visit my jar full of old ticket stubs.  With the remnant of each admission, I remember the songs that I loved, the people I was with, and the general feeling of that time of my life.

One of my regrets is that I went through a period where I did NOT save my stubs.  I was moving around a lot and went through a "less is more" phase, because the more stuff I'd collect, the more I would have to transport.  So there's no tangible proof of all the good shows I saw in the 90s, unfortunately.

As you can see from the photo above, I was lucky to see some great artists back in the 80s.  David Bowie, the Thompson Twins, and the Go-Go's were some highlights.  As was Spandau Ballet which I'll be talking more about in preparation for their show Friday night in Red Bank.  (Visit www.countbasietheatre.org for ticket information.)  It's interesting to see how ticket prices have changed over the years, isn't it?  $12.50 for a concert?  Ah, those were the days.

Do you hold on to ticket stubs or memorabilia from concerts?  Any treasured ticket stubs from shows you really loved?  Please tell us in the Comments section below.
