Tragedy Strikes a South Toms River Company

Freak accident claims the life of a Lakewood man in South Toms River Friday morning. The Ocean County Prosecutors Office said the man in his 50's, was greasing a concrete crusher and fell into the machine last night at Suffolk Contracting on Dover Road, according to Toms River Patch.com. Spokesman Al Della Fave said the machine was running at idling speed when the incident occurred. First responders extricated the victim and took him to Community Medical Center in Toms River where he was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of kin. The accident is under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the South Toms River Police Department, he said.
