Traffic snarled by Water Main Break in Downtown Toms River

Emergency repairs on a water main break in downtown Toms River are expected to last into the afternoon, according to Toms River Police Department spokesman Ralph Stocco. 

Irons Street cannot be accessed from Water Street. A detour is in place. Motorists are being advised to expect heavy delays in the downtown business district.

Three uniformed police officers have been stationed in the area in attempts to minimize traffic congestion and assist motorists with directions.
