A number of burglaries and thefts were reported Friday afternoon in Toms River and police continue to search for suspects.

Police Chief Mike Mastronardy says $400 worth of jewelry was stolen from a residence on Church Rd. just before 2 p.m.

A 67 year old woman came home to find the suspect's vehicle, a grey Chrysler Sebring convertible, exiting her driveway, then head west on Church Rd.

In a separate incident, security cameras show a 40 year old white male remove two pairs of glasses and a cell phone from an unlocked car near Jersey Coast Appliance on Rt. 37.

Police are also looking for two black males in a grey Chevy Cavalier who were observed near a landscaping trailer at the Bay Lea Apartment Complex.

A worker for Hudson Landscaping reported three RedMax blowers were removed from the trailer around 2:30 p.m.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Dept. is also investigating these incidents.  Anyone with information is asked to call 732-349-0150 ext 1200.
