If you weren't up already this morning, you were certainly woken up by a few very loud claps of thunder and heavy rain pelting down to start this mid-April Monday.

With the rain starting Sunday night and intensifying overnight and into Monday morning, many of our coastal Ocean County communities saw water reaching over barriers and into the streets.

I stopped by both Mathis Plaza, across from Baker's Water Street Grille and the River Lady docks, and Irons Street/Route 166 outside of the Post Office to check out the situation.

Thankfully, the weather situation looks like it'll improve from here, with a decent week on the way! You can of course stay with us on-air, online, and on the free WOBM app for the latest!
